House of Chan — it feels like something that could only exist in a city built by immigrants.
The name, the dragon, the colours—everything about it is proudly Chinese, serving traditional Chinese dishes. Yet it’s also a high-end, celebrated steakhouse. Not one or the other, but both, existing together with complete confidence.
That blend of cultures is what inspired this piece. I used the restaurant’s original Chinese colour palette and mixed it with contrasting elements to create something that feels familiar yet unexpected.
In the background, lotus roots and poppies grow side by side—something that would never happen in nature, except here, in my work.
I love contrast. Different worlds meeting, blending, and becoming something entirely new.

Edition: Limited edition original digital Giclée fine art print. 99 signed and numbered editions worldwide.

* Each piece is embossed with the signature Octopus and Dahlias stamp, as shown in the last picture. The stamp will be on the bottom left or right-hand corners. If the location is printed, then the signature and edition number will be in the back.

Size: 18" x 24"

          22" x 28"

          30" x 40"

Custom size upon inquiry, with a minimum size of 18"x24"

Material: Giclee fine art printing on archival grade 310 gsm Hahnemühle German etching paper – a white, 100% α-cellulose paper – guarantees archival standards. German Etching is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements regarding age resistance. The mould-made etching paper features a distinct textured surface. With its premium matt inkjet coating, German Etching meets the highest industry standards regarding density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.

Care recommendation (guidance only)

  • Use and store ideally at a relative humidity of 35 to 65% and a temperature of 10 to 30° C (50° – 86°F.)
  • Store papers in archive-quality envelopes, folders, and boxes. ́ Use only archive-grade tapes and glues for mounting & framing.

Processing time: The printing studio I use to create the highest quality fine art print takes its work very seriously. It is an art form that matches the print to the intense colours I use. As the process takes time, please allow up to 10 business days for printing.
